Why JESUS?

Welcome to Page Three of this Article where we are going to discuss the reasons why JESUS is the only way to the FATHER.

 


"JESUS said to him, I am the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE;
no one comes to the FATHER except by (through) ME."
John 14:6-7


Do you believe that JESUS is the WAY?  I hope so.  Eternity for you depends on it! (your belief on HIM).  But have you thought of why HE is the only way? Think about it for a moment.  Why JESUS?  Why not another great religious teacher?

Here are some of the reasons -

1. People had become sinful, beginning with Adam's disobedience and followed by our own lack of righteous standing.  Something had to be done.  Many people ask why GOD allows evil and pain in this world.  The answer is that HE has a plan for this world that will eliminate evil and pain in the only lasting way possible.  Mankind needs a SAVIOR bigger than itself.

2.  If a natural born man or woman could be perfect from birth to (which is not possible) he or she could not provide sin removal properties for anyone else. There would be no payment that would satisfy CREATOR'S righteous requirements for living.

3.  In order to have what we call salvation, there needed to be an exchange. The exchange had to be something good enough to weigh in against the load of sin on mankind.  Think about it.  An exchange item that would outweigh every horrible deed ever committed by any and every human that ever lived! That is why only the SON of GOD could be sent to fulfill the righteous requirements of the Law.  This was JESUS' mission on earth.  HIS Great Teachings were a side benefit for us. HIS purpose was to complete a perfect life and then receive our punishment rather than HIS reward.  That is what the Cross was.  Our punishment.  HE exchanged HIS Right Standing with the FATHER for our punishment for our sin.

See the plan?  JESUS was a Great Teacher.  The Greatest ever!  But HIS purpose here was to exchange HIS Righteousness for our sinfulness.  And HE did it! JESUS said in John 19:30; "It is finished!"  And when HE said that,
it was finished forever.  HIS  d e a t h  paid for our sin.  The only thing left for us is to accept it . . .   accept HIM!

Honoring HIM, praising HIM, saying good things about HIM . . .   all good, but to no avail in the sin problem.  The only thing that will rid us of sin is to Accept HIM as LORD and SAVIOR.
