Welcome to Page Two of this Article where we are going to discuss the reasons why JESUS is the only way to the FATHER.

Read this quote from author C. S. Lewis:

(Speaking of JESUS) "Even his enemies, when they read the Gospels, do not usually get the impression of silliness and conceit.  Still less do unprejudiced readers.  Christ says that he is 'humble and meek" and we believe him; not noticing that, if he were merely a man, humility and meekness are the very last characteristics we could attribute to some of his sayings.  I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about him.  'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept his claim to be God.'  That is the one thing we must not say.  A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher.  He would either be a lunatic-on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the devil of hell. You must make your choice.  Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse.  You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God."

This is the famous Liar - Lunatic passage in which Brother Lewis makes a point that must be addressed.  Many people say they believe that JESUS was a great teacher, a religious leader for HIS time, a good man, and more.  But they at the same time will not let HIM be the SON OF THE LIVING GOD!

Along with denial of HIS God-hood while holding the belief that HE was only a good moral teacher, we lose several very important marks of faith, such as HIS Resurrection, HIS Eternal Life (for HIM and us), HIS being the true MASTER of the universe, HIS ability to effect our lives now, and more.

Why is the moral teacher view of JESUS false?  As, our quote above shows, if JESUS said in our passage "I am the WAY . . . " and "No one comes to the FATHER except through ME"  HE  must be one of three things:

1.  Liar - 
If there are other ways to the FATHER then JESUS was a liar and not a great moral teacher.

2.  Lunatic (insane) - 
In this view, HE was not the only way to the FATHER but HE insanely believed HE was.  Again, if this is true then HE was not a great moral teacher, but a mental patient in need of therapy and possibly hospitalization.

3.  Exactly who HE said HE is -
JESUS most definitely was a Great Moral Teacher . . . The GREATEST ever!  But HE cannot only be a great moral teacher.  HE must also be the ONLY WAY to the FATHER!  That is because HE said HE is, and Great Moral Teachers do not lie! Correct?

So, don't listen to strange doctrinal teachings that compromise JESUS to being a Great Moral Teacher but not the SON of the LIVING GOD!  This is a great way to spot a false religion.
