GOD
will
meet all your needs according to HIS
glorious riches in CHRIST
JESUS.
What the LORD intends to be a phenomenal , unequaled blessing in the lives of HIS people has often become a weapon to be used against them by so called, well meaning Professionals. Paul is explaining that there is incredible blessing for the person who understands that it takes giving and sharing financial resources to effectively equip those whose calling is to preach the gospel to the lost.
In verses 15-18, Paul refers to what the Philippians' had provided him over past years in the way of needed funds. Take notice! Paul is not attempting to bring conviction to the people in order to obtain more of their money. Just the opposite! He is commending their godly generosity and sacrifices for the LORD'S work over the years. Some of you may be thinking; "About time!"
I have visited Church's that the whole emphasis was on; "What's in your wallet?" As a Pastor, I must say that I was looking for the door. I once attended a very large outdoor meeting and the Sponsors sent a 55 gallon drum around the Auditorium to be filled with offerings. When the Ushers finished counting, this Pastor scolded everyone and then said; " I am sending this drum around again and it better be filled to the full this time!" I found the exit!!
GOD'S view on your godly generosity is clear:
"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for GOD loves a cheerful giver."You have heard it said; "When GOD has your wallet, HE has your heart." It could not be clearer, GOD wants your heart, HIS object is your heart, HE is looking for your heart, HE already knows what you have in your wallet!
Don't give up on tithes and offerings, don't forget to give alms to the needy, don't forget to give to missions, don't be stingy, don't forget that all your wealth comes from the LORD.
At the same time, do give with 'JOY', do give with gladness, do rejoice for all the wealth the LORD has provided for you. Do give what the LORD has laid upon your heart to give. Be a cheerful giver!
As you live in financial freedom, giving unto the LORD with godly generosity, you will always experience:
GOD will meet all your needs according to HIS glorious riches in CHRIST JESUS.
