Welcome to the Article that covers the subject of the Holy Bible and cults.  You will see that all world religions and so-called Christian Cults misinterpret the Holy Bible for their own sinful purposes.  Nothing is more serious than altering the exact wording of GOD'S Word!

The Holy Bible is not like any other book in all of creation for it is inspired by GOD.  All other books in the world are the works and words of man.

All Scripture is God­breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.."

One popular Translations says; "From the very lungs of GOD."

Doctrinal Statement in regard to the Scriptures:

 
We believe all Scripture, Old and New Testament, is inspired by God. This refers to the original autographs as written by the prophets and apostles. Thus, the Bible is inerrant, and without mistakes in the original words. We believe all Scripture points to the Lord Jesus Christ and reveals the mind of God to man, and the only way of Salvation is through Christ. The Scriptures also are the only guide for our practical, moral, and spiritual instruction.

All World Religions and so-called Christian Cults misinterpret or deliberately alter GOD'S Word to fit their personal view.  No matter how seemingly innocent, any and all variations of the Holy Bible are condemned without exception. 


Revelation 22

18I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

Three examples of how cults misread the Holy Bible for their own purposes:

 
Twisted Translation:       John 1:1

John 1:1 – In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.
 (New World Translation, Watchtower Society)

John 1:1 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 
(New American Standard Bible)

 
Whimsical Word-play:

  • What's in a name?

    "The word Adam is from the Hebrew adamah, signifying the red color of the ground, dust, nothingness. Divide the name Adam into two syllables, and it reads a dam, or obstruction. This suggests the thought of something fluid, of mortal mind in solution. It further suggests the thought of that "darkness . . . upon the face of the deep," when matter or dust was deemed the agent of Deity in creating man, -- when matter, as that which is accursed, stood opposed to Spirit. Here a dam is not a mere play on words; it stands for obstruction, error, even the supposed separation of man from God, and the obstacle which the serpent, sin, would impose between man and his creator." (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures)

  • The errors:

    1. Start with Hebrew

    2. Go to English

    3. Make a pun

    4. Build your theology

 

 
Embellished Context:

Psalm 46:10 – "Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

  • From the lips of the Mahareshi himself:

    "Christ said, 'Be still and know that I am God.' Be still and know that you are God and when you know that you are God you will begin to live Godhood, and living Godhood there is no reason to suffer." (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of Transcendental Meditation)

 

What's the big deal when people who seem so loving and kind happen to preach a different gospel.  

There is only one real gospel - 


1. JESUS CHRIST died for our sins.

2. JESUS CHRIST was buried.

3. JESUS CHRIST rose again the third day.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

 

Paul explains the seriousness of altering the gospel -

 
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!  Galatians 1:8-9 

 

Everyone who alters the Scripture for their own purposes is twice condemned to hell for eternity!  Are you as bold as Paul?   You would not hesitate to tell someone in a burning house to run for their lives!  Why then would you, myself, or any Follower of JESUS not take any and every opportunity to lovingly share the gospel with someone who lives by the doctrines of a false gospel.  Surely we do not revel in the eternal condemnation of a confused or misled soul!

False gospels always attack or deny one or more of the essential teachings of the Bible listed below:

  1. The Deity of Christ [which involves The Trinity].

  2. The Resurrection.

  3. Salvation by Grace.

Let's remind ourselves one more time why we do not agree with those who add or take away anything from the Holy Bible?
