BE ENCOURAGED
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer (be encouraged*); I have overcome the world. * These words added by author Ephesians 1:19 17 That the God
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give
unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge
of him: 19
and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in
the saints, It is not an overly spiritual deal! To what am I referring? Well, JESUS giving us understanding, enlightenment and our eyes being open. I mean, it sounds like something that we need to fast and pray over. And, not discounting fasting and praying, I think we need to see something here if we desire to be filled with HIS form of courage. It is not an overly spiritual deal! We don't have to join a monastery of convent. We don't have to take a vow of poverty. We don't have to inflict wounds upon ourselves or hang from a cross. We need to understand that the LORD wants us to be enlightened. And by enlightened HE means that we are to understand the exceedingly great power HE works through us and that HE wants us to walk in that power. Half, or more than half the battle we fight in this life is against the enemy's attempt to dumb us down in regards to the LORD'S power in us. I will give you an example: Here are the words of the LORD JESUS in Matthew 17 - If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Now, here HE says, "If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed." How much faith do you have? If you can stand and say that GOD ALMIGHTY came to us in the form of a human being, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for us, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, I would say that constitutes at least a mustard seed sized faith! So why aren't we "moving mountains?" Or more specifically, why are we not en-couraged? More next Lesson.. -------- PraiseNation
