The Beatitudes - being blessed "possessing an inward contentness and joy that is not affected by the physical circumstances." Matthew
5:4 God blesses those who mourn, Yes, this passage is a blessing on those who have lost loved ones, to be sure. But there is another meaning here that applies to us all . . . . Do you mourn the loss of purity and justice in this world? Do you sense their being absent? Deep in the heart of a believer, there is a longing for the world as built by the LORD! At least there is in mine! How about you? This world was built perfectly and without flaw or blemish or inequity or injustice or pain or . . . need I go on? I think you know what I mean. There is a sadness in the heart of the follower of JESUS. This will never be shaken until things are set right, and Oh!!!!! Believe me, they will be set right! Or rather believe HIM! HE is counting down the days, hours and minutes until the FATHER says, "OK, SON, NOW! Go bring them in and fix the world!" In knowing HIM, we also know that this day is coming. Our mourning will be turned to dancing! Not a dancer? Well, if you won 100 million dollars, do you think you might just do a bit of a joy-hop? This will be so much better than that (think about that)! JESUS will right all wrong, destroy HIS (our) enemies and establish HIS reign on this earth! HIS Reign! KING JESUS on the throne of this world. You do understand that HE is not on the throne of this world right now. For those of you who do this - stop blaming HIM for the tragedy of this life! It is not an act of GOD! Any Act of GOD would be a wonderful event, not a tornado or earthquake. So, if you feel a sadness that you can't always explain, it may be the mourning of the fall of this world. Be of good cheer, because JESUS has and will overcome this world, and you will be comforted!
