The Fruits of life:
Our lives, even the everyday and mundane, are made up of lots of different roles. You may be a mother or father as well as a wage earner or home maker. Each of your roles are made up of tasks. Your position in the family unit for example, may mean that you are expected to become the family mechanic or nurse or gardener. Possibly you could turn your hand to those electrical or plumbing jobs. If you have children you will certainly need to be something of a psychologist, psychoanalyst, nurse, comforter, entertainer, teacher ...and on and on. Think of each role that you play and each task that you do as being a different kind of fruit tree. If you don't play the part or take on the task to the best of your ability the various trees will not bear fruit. The reward of fruit laden trees outweighs by far the initial effort taken... if you get things right. These fruits which are many and varied are the fruits of life and they exist for everyone not just Christians. So what could be the difference between your fruits and the fruits of your non-Christian neighbor? The answer is simply your faith. The acceptance, belief and your walk with Jesus Christ is the single, most stabilizing influence in the world. Your faith is the fruit bowl that keeps its contents in cohesion. Without it your beautiful fruit would roll off the table and become bruised and damaged. Your fruit bowl (your faith) presents all your various fruits (your life's worth) as a glorious display and example to others. The next time something seems to go wrong in your
life don't do what the market seller did and just curse the fruit,
check the bowl from which the fruit fell.
