I AM
A 5 MINUTE PRAISE DEVOTION

 

When JESUS spoke again to the people, HE said, "I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.  Whoever follows ME will never walk in darkness, but will have the LIGHT of life."  John 8:12


"GOD made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.  Genesis 1:16  Since the LORD created all the light man would ever need, why did JESUS call HIMSELF THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD? John 1:1-18

At the time JESUS spoke these words, man had become totally lost in darkness.  Knowing there was no hope for mankind without HIM, JESUS came to make a way to the FATHER by bringing HIS light to the spiritually bind.

Read what is commonly called -  Romans Road to see how the light of JESUS brings salvation to the world.

DARKNESS

Romans 3:10 
"As it is written: "There is no-one righteous, not even one;"

Romans 3:23 
 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD,

Romans 6:23a 
 "For the wages of sin is death,

LIGHT!
Romans 6:23b
but the gift of GOD is eternal life in CHRIST JESUS our LORD."

Romans 10:9,10  
"That if you confess with your mouth, "JESUS is LORD," and believe in your heart that GOD raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

Romans 10:13  
"for, Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved."

So here you are, living in HIS light today, glad to know that the LORD is THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.  Ask yourself,  "What does HIS light do for me?"  As a  Follower of JESUS you desperately need HIS light to bring you into a strong, daily relationship with your LORD.  You could never become spiritually mature enough to bring HIS light to this world on your own strength!

Why not call out to JESUS now - 

"LORD bring YOUR light into my heart everyday.  Please keep YOUR light shinning before me that I may walk on YOUR Path of Beauty all the way to the FATHER,  without wandering or taking time off to go my own way in these last days.  Allow YOUR light to shine through me into the darkness that the lost might see and be drawn to YOU.  Thank YOU for being THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD and THE LIGHT OF MY life!"
