James 4:8

"Come close to GOD, and GOD will come close to you.  Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between GOD and the world."

 

 

Drawing near to GOD -

Step One:
Pray!  Ask HIM to help you do whatever is necessary to increase the strength of your relationship with HIM.

Step Two:
Wash your hands.  That's right.  If there is something that is going on in your life that you know is keeping you from a close friendship with HIM, wash it away!  HE came to cleanse us of all sin, and HE will.  

Step Three:
Do not divide your loyalty.  This can be hard at times.  We live in a world that demands our attention and wants to consume our time.  

The world system is a foreign concept to the LORD.  Not that HE doesn't understand it.  HE knows its author better than we do.  The enemy is subtle and will try over time to gradually diminish your fervor and zeal for the LORD. 

This is why it is vital to recommit your loyalty to JESUS many times.  In fact, you should do it every time you feel that there is a cooling off of your relationship with HIM.

Don't wait until you are so far from HIM that you don't even have the desire to restore things.  Take time now to Pray, wash and recommit!
