Notice that the commandments are in quotes. Very important. Moses
did not find these on a tablet of stone laying on the ground somewhere and
decided to use them as a conduct code. They were the Spoken Words of the
HOLY FATHER! They
were so powerfully spoken that they burned their way into the
stone.
These are the Words of the
FATHER
to HIS People. That would include us, if
you and born again and follow the path that JESUS laid for us. We are
HIS
children. And as a FATHER,
HE
has given us a code of ethics. They are clear, simple, precise and concise!
Not confusing in the least.
And speaking of path, have you ever walked through a nature
trail? The area I live in has many. And it also has things like
alligators, crocodiles, and several varieties of highly poisonous
snakes.
Needless to say, it is vital to my health to stay on the
path! And that path must be clearly marked to help me keep from
straying. It is my choice for the most part to stay or stray.
Get the analogy. The
Ten Commandments are the Path
markers. When we violate a commandment we are off the Path and are in
harm's way!
No, salvation does not come through the
Ten Commandments. It is Trusting our
GUIDE
(that would be the JESUS) that brings us safely
through the danger of this world. But, it must be said that JESUS
did not ever violate the Commandments and will never lead you or me in any
other Path!
Trusting
JESUS is what enables us
to walk the Path!
